Over the last four years, our group of innovative engineers and scientists have developed the Rockspear PlasmaDrill technology. Their experience in the field of Plasma Technology is globally recognised.

OUR BUSINESSES

The capability to drill economically in hard crystalline rock formations, opens the door to deep, high yield, geothermal energy

An energy source that is virtually inexhaustible and capable of powering existing electrical generation hardware

Economically viable drilling to depths in excess of 5km will provide the temperatures and pressures required to create Supercritical Steam (SCS). SCS has the energy density required to repower existing fossil-fuelled generators.

Thereby utilising existing infrastructure and grid connectivity, avoiding costly decommissioning and job losses.

Rockspear technology enables the efficient drilling of hard crystalline rock formations, with penetration rates around 20 metres per hour

The reduced wear on the drill-bit, drastically reduces the need for replacement and repair of drill-bits

Improved drill-bit lifespan cuts the need for multiple tripping to replace equipment slashing drilling costs and helps maintain borehole integrity

Efficient use of expensive rig-time by maximising the drilling time

The Precious Metal Yield Tool facilitates extraction of the significant proportion of the seam that is inaccessible through conventional mining

The Rockspear tool can be deployed a number of ways, for example; via wireline in the gallery using the conventionally drilled angle holes to accurately locate the mineralised zones and remove them by spallation

The prototype tool will use existing, industry standard components and be tested in situ in a precious metal mine.

The innovative Rockspear drilling technology to enable geothermal powered desalination. The opportunity to supply sweet water from seawater with no liquid waste

High flow: Generates over 1000 litres of sweet water per second per quadruplet

Long term: Production of 90,000 cubic metres per day (or 90 million litres! That’s enough sweet water to fill 36 Olympic sized swimming pools ), practicable for at least 100 years with minimal maintenance

Clean:  Seawater in,  sweet water and crystalline salt out.
No brine waste stream. Huge reduction in energy in comparison with MED and RO plants, and so fewer emissions.
